GENERAL New Zealand (formerly Fujitsu General New Zealand) has announced a leadership transition, with Philip Perham departing his role as Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, after nearly 27 years with the business. Sachio Inami, Head of Oceania, will become the senior point of contact for Australia and New Zealand.

The transition comes as GENERAL New Zealand continues its evolution following the acquisition of Fujitsu General Limited by Paloma Rheem Holdings Co., Ltd. in August 2025, and reflects the company's ongoing commitment to strong, connected leadership across the region.

During his tenure, Philip played a significant role in the growth and development of the business, helping establish GENERAL New Zealand as one of the leading air conditioning and heat pump brands in the New Zealand market. Since his appointment as Managing Director in 2018, he has overseen a period of sustained growth, strengthened the company's partner network, and helped guide the business through its transition to GENERAL New Zealand.

Sachio Inami, Head of Oceania, GENERAL, Inc., said, “On behalf of the business, I would like to sincerely thank Philip for his outstanding contribution over nearly three decades. Philip's leadership, commitment, and industry expertise have helped shape the business we are today. He has built strong relationships with our partners, customers, and employees, and has played an important role in positioning the company for future success.”

The leadership transition will not affect day-to-day operations, customer support, partner relationships, or the company's strategic direction. The business remains committed to delivering reliable air conditioning and heat pump solutions backed by strong local support while continuing to invest in future growth and innovation.

Sachio Inami said, “New Zealand remains an important market for our business and our commitment to our customers, partners, and employees remains unchanged. As part of the Paloma Rheem Holdings group, GENERAL New Zealand is strongly positioned for the future. We will continue to focus on innovation, energy-efficient air conditioning and heat pump solutions, customer care, and supporting our nationwide network of partners.”
